LFAS Career Centre opens on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8 am to 3 pm in the Counselling office. Students are welcome to visit during school to get information and resources for your Career and Education planning. You may make an appointment with Ms. Ellen Gao the Career Advisor for one-on-one sessions. Appointment Request Form is available at the centre and Ms. Gao can be reached at Egao@sd35.bc.ca

May 16, 2018 – Youth Innovation Day, Vancouver 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
Grades 10, 11 and 12 students. Explore education, training and career opportunities in tech sector. Chat with local researchers demonstrating innovative technologies in the Marketplace and Technology Showcase, listen to inspiring speakers share the ways they are changing the world around us through technology, and gather practical information from post-secondary institutions and companies seeking the next generation of talent. Students in grade 11 and 12 accepted to participate in one of the Youth TRAIN in Trades programs receive elective credits towards graduation, post-secondary credits, and Industry Training Authority (ITA) technical trades apprenticeship training at the same time.

The ITA Youth WORK in Trades previously known as Secondary School Apprenticeship program allows students to start their apprenticeship while still in high school. They earn graduation credit and log apprenticeship training hours at the same time. Students can be signed up anytime during the school year.
