French

All levels of French at LFA focus on interaction and an authentic language learning experience.  Early levels of French will concentrate on students expressing their wants, needs, opinions in regards to their personal life and immediate situation. Later years of French will concentrate more on developing an understanding of francophone culture and how learning French as a second language can provide opportunities for travel, career and studying abroad. Throughout students’ studies in French, they will continue to develop their skills in the language, learning to speak in past, present and future timeframes. Students are will participate in a variety of activities that focus on all areas of language learning: reading, writing, speaking and listening. There will a heavy focus on spoken interaction, especially for the more senior levels.

 

 

 

Spanish

Spanish studies at LFA concentrate on developing the skills necessary to travel to Spanish speaking countries. Both levels incorporate the vocabulary, grammar knowledge and cultural knowledge needed with travel and communication in mind and aim to provide an authentic language learning experience. Beginner Spanish focuses on developing basic conversational language skills while Spanish 11 continues to develop these skills at a more advanced level.
