First WEEK of School Schedule:

Kindergarten Families – You have received a schedule via email which outlines the gradual entry timetable for all. If you require additional information please contact our office. Kindergarten supply fees ($50.00) will be collected at the time of your scheduled interview.
Grades 1-5 Families – Students will be in attendance Tuesday, September 5th from 9:00am – 10:30am. Homeroom lists will be posted the morning of September 5th in front of the school’s main entrance, in the theatre foyer and on the outside of each classroom door. Please note that several elementary teachers have changed classrooms for this year. Maps and room numbers will be available at the front entrance. Grade 1 – 5 fees (supplies, agenda, etc.) will be collected at, this time. Please send payment with your child.
If you are new to Langley Fine Arts School, please feel free to come into the main foyer by the office and consult with a map or one of the staff who will be available to greet you. We ask that once you know where you are going, please head back outside to wait for teachers to let you into your classroom. It is always a very busy day, and it is much easier for office staff and for new families if you remain outside until the teachers open their doors.
The first day is very exciting for students, for teachers and for parents. We ask that you allow us the opportunity to work with and to get to know your child. The best way for us to do that is for you to say goodbye to your child at the door. Please do not stay by the outside doors talking or waiting. It can be very distracting for students and makes their transition back to school more stressful. Thank you to our PAC who will be present to provide refreshments for parents.
Middle Years Families – Gr. 6, 7, 8 – Students will be in attendance on Tuesday, September 5th – 10:30am –12:00pm. Please meet in the Chief Sepass Theatre at 10:30 am. Students will be directed into learning groups from the theatre.
Gr. 8 fees will be collected at this time – please send payment with your child. Grade 8 students will pay the applicable General student fees along with their TWO major choices.
The Middle Years is an exciting time! It is also a challenging time for parents, as their children’s focus begins to shift from parents to peers. Although it scares us as parents, this is an important part of learning how to grow up and how to be successful. We will do everything we can to support parents by communicating with you and providing you with opportunities to connect with your child’s teachers and to participate in their learning, but we ask that you respect the importance of this orientation day by not accompanying your child into the theatre. We can do a better job if we have the ability, to focus our attention on the learning experiences of students in the Middle Years.
Secondary – Grades 9-12 – Students will be in attendance in their homerooms on Tuesday, September 5th from 1:00pm – 2:30pm. Student homeroom lists will be posted throughout the front foyer walls. FEES WILL BE COLLECTED AT THIS TIME. Lockers will NOT be given out if fees are outstanding from last year. Lockers will be assigned and fees collected at lunch and after school in the Main Foyer on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be FULL DAYS for all students:
Kindergarten – First Full Day is September 18th – please consult mini group schedules sent via
email in early July for session times for the first two weeks.
Grades 1-5 = 8:52am – 2:50pm
Grades 6-7 = 8:52am – 2:55pm
Grades 8-12 = 8:27 – 3:10pm
