SECONDARY GRADES (GR. 8-12) APPLICATION

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE APPLICATION/INTAKE PROCESS?

Step One Application Form – Either complete the online application or apply in person at LFAS. The date this application form is received, determines the student’s place on the wait list. PLEASE BE SURE TO INDICATE YOUR CHILD’S PRIORITY CHOICES FOR FINE ARTS MAJORS.

The choices are: Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Art, Photography (Gr. 9-12 only), Writing (Gr. 11-12 only)

Step Two Information Session – There is a requirement for families to attend a mandatory Information Session to hear about LFAS’s programs, philosophy and expectations. Only students who attend this information session will be considered for possible audition, interview and acceptance. Attendance at an information session will be recorded on our waitlist. Call the school or check the website to find the date of the next scheduled Information Session.

Step Three Audition – The school secretary will contact your family to invite your child to audition. Students applying for grade 8-12 can audition for their choice of Major: Dance, Drama, Music or Visual Art. Those applying for entrance in grade 9-12 may also audition for Photo, and those applying for entrance in grade 11-12 may also audition for Writing.

Note: We fill positions in wait list order and according to space within each grade and within each Arts Major. Auditions will be booked via an online booking system. An email invitation will explain this process.

Step Four Interview – Upon successful completion of auditions, parents and students will be invited to an interview with Administrative staff at the school. We will discuss each student’s needs and interests so that parents can make a well-informed decision as to whether, or not Langley Fine Arts School is the best choice for you, their child and family.
